JPB Capital Partners was launched by JPB Enterprises, Inc. (JPBE), a Columbia, Maryland based merchant bank, to expand upon the prior successes of JPBE and the fund's Managers in making private equity and equity-related investments in established lower-middle market businesses. JPBE was incorporated in 1995 by J.P. Bolduc, the former President and Chief Executive Officer of W.R. Grace & Co. and presidential appointee to three U.S. Presidents. Since 1995, we have acquired over 25 companies through 11 platform holdings.
In response to expanding opportunities in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern U.S. and the lower-middle market, JPBE added additional team members with finance, operating, and principal investment experience to form JPB Capital Partners. While JPBE's prior investment activities have included a number of third party investors on a transaction-specific basis, JPB Capital Partners formalizes JPBE's private equity investment activities in a single limited partnership with a traditional private equity structure. JPB Capital Partners serves as JPBE's investment vehicle for transactions in the Fund's target marketplace.
